Our kick-off day was met with anticipation and excitement. We went over the goal of the challenge, which is, Defy the Urge to Quit. We were to:
Write down areas in our lives that we felt tempted to quit it in ie, the dream the ministry, the job, or marriage, or excercise program. Give those areas over to God, and allow Him to strengthen you in the race. How do you want 2020 to end?
Grab a journal. Make notes of moments that resonate with you. What are your thoughts? What reoccurring word, or words do you keep hearing like-breakthrough, boldness, and courage?
Make a list of what YOU want. What is your greatest need and desire? Let’s be intentional and strategic in our prayer time. Find scriptures that support your claim.
Do a prayer exchange. Find someone to take the challenge with you.
Day 2 How Can I Help?
Day 2 encouraged us to have the boldness and courage to ask another sister if she needed help with anything. Sometimes, our pride can get in the way of our reaching out for help, so not only were we challenged to ask someone if they needed help, we were challenged to not be afraid of needing help.
Day 3 Don’t Be Ashamed. Be Healed.
We all have situations, or things we have dealt with in our past that we are not proud of, but the truth is we are never alone in the struggle. There is always someone, who can say, “me too.” Our stories binds us together. We were reminded to, “Believe again.”
Day 4 Better Than Your Barrenness
No matter what it is that we desire, God is better than the desire. I know. We want what we want when we want it, but let’s not want it more than we want our heavenly father. He is better than anything we think we lack. Always and forever, be more consumed with God than what you want from God.
Day 5 Love Her Anyway
One of the things that we have been praying about during our morning prayer and motivation is the need to forgive. Unforgiveness can clog your blessings like hair in a drain. Indeed, as women, we can be spiteful and petty, but let’s be purposeful and persistent to not hold on to bitterness, let’s forgive and love.
Day 6 Get Rid of Unforgive-mess
Like Day 5, let’s purpose to stay out of strife with each other. There may be times when you have to woman-up, and walk away…without getting in the last word.
Day 7 In HERS is YOURS
Once we get a true revelation of, In HERS is YOURS, envy, jealousy, and needless competition will fall to the wayside. Think about it. If your blessing was tied to me being blessed, wouldn’t you want to see me blessed? Selah.
Day 8 Great vs Great
Bottom line. We are all called to greatness no matter the assignment. Yes, some gifts and callings may seemingly get more notoriety from a worldly view, but when we are doing what we are purposed to do we have the ability to be great. Great is great! Our morning nuggets included: “don’t be so familiar with God’s word that you lose sight of its ability to continue to birth. Also, don’t be afraid to give, and help others succeed at being great.
Day 9 Each One Reach One!
Our Day 9 morning call was lit with encouragement and motivation!!!
First up, we were reminded to draw close to God, spend time getting to know Him, so that we can know and flow with HIS timing. He has a set time. DON’T WORRY. YOUR STEPS ARE BEING ORDERED.
NOTE: Spending time reading the Bible and prayer helps us to draw nigh.
We have constantly been reminded throughout the challenge to trust God day-by-day for our daily bread, provision, direction, and wisdom.
The details of our life, business, or ministry may not have step by step instructions laid out nice and pretty. God may only show us step 1. There may be times He will show us Step 2 and 3 at the same time. But, what we MUST grasp hold of is faith to trust him for today without worrying about tomorrow. I repeat: trust him for today without worrying about tomorrow
PrayHer Warriors on the call chimed in to say:
If you were able to defeat your past battles, you are able to do it again ~ Lanita
Have patience in the process ~ Shirley
God is trying to finish, but it will take faith work, and it will also be favor at work. ~ Cheryl
We must have determination.
Don’t allow the enemy to have sequels in your life. Test and trials that keep coming back. Esther
We can have victory over every test and trial. Tieja
Day 10 Don’t Be a Disourage-HER!
I was so pumped after our #Day10 call. It was truly encouraging. I am in expectation that many of us will receive clear direction and wisdom for next steps, so stay encouraged. How great it is to have women in your life that can encourage you to continue so that you don’t quit? It is even more beautiful to be that kind of woman.
Day 11 Wonderfully Made
To be wonderfully made is to be revered, or respected. Be reminded that it is ok to be different, or odd. We weren’t made to fit it, we were made to stand out from the crowd. Therefore, if you have been told that you are strange, or odd, REJOICE! You are wonderfully made.
Day 12 Do It As Unto The Lord
Whatever ‘it’ is that you are doing, do it as if you work for God, and do it with excellence. If it’s being a wife, a mother, employee, employer, volunteer worker- do it with excellence. The great thing about working for God is that He doesn’t forget our labor of love (Hebrews 6:10), and His resources are unlimited. Therefore, instead of fretting about what we have to do, let’s do it as unto the Lord.
Day 13 U.N.I.T.Y
The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance. (1 Corinthians 12:25-26 MSG).
Day 14 Restore-HER
Day 14 we were encouraged not to rub it in the face of our sister when is having a difficult time, especially if she is normally the calm and controlled one. Help restore her hope and joy. Remind her that she is more than a conqueror and can do ALL things through Christ, which strengthens her.
Day 15 Don’t Get Weary
It’s at the halfway mark when we tend to contemplate whether or not to keep going, or quit. The definition of weary: Feeling or showing tiredness, especially after excessive exertion. When tempted by weariness we must make sure that we are still operating in God’s strength. Are we still following Him, or have we deviated from the path? We must remember to call on help (Day 1) Or, if we see our sister in need of some encouragement let’s offer it to her (Day 10).
Day 16 Reward of a Heart That Esteems Others
Motives of the heart involve asking ourselves, “Why am I doing this?” “Why did I say, yes, or no?” Or, why do I want a certain thing? Motives can be selfish, or they can be serving. When they are serving they not only bless the recipient, but the donor as well. The great win-win. Today, we were encouraged to examine our motives. Are we operating with honest intent?
Day 17 Whose Esther Are You?
Like Queen Esther in the Bible, we are all here for such a time as this! We have a right now mission. Esther was in a position of influence. Her husband was none other than the King, and when he issued a decree to kill off the Jews, he did so without consideration or knowledge that his own bride was Jewish. But, because of her influence and relationship with she was able to approach his throne boldly on behalf of her people, which saved them from being killed. Have you ever considered the reason you were promoted? Or, why you have the house that you have? The car? The position? It could be so that you can help others. Todays challenge reminded us to watch how we treat others. We shouldn’t be so quick to backbite, or ridicule a sister, because she could be our Esther.
Day 18 Faithfulness Matters
How committed are you to what you signed up for? Are you in it half-heartedly, or are you giving it your all? I can relate, it’s not always easy to be faithful, diligent, timely, or concerned about areas that belong to someone else. Their mission. Their problem. But, in reality, as a body of believer it can impact us all in a trickle down effect.
The scripture reference for the day came out of Luke 16:10,12. If you have not been faithful in that which is of another who shall give you your own? Like Day 16, we should examine our hearts to make sure our motives are right. There is a great reward in doing so. Showing up faithfully, matters. Following up when you can’t show up, matters. Being responsible matters.
Day 19 Fear Not
Fear is a blockade that tries to hinder us from moving forward. We all have specific gifts and talents that need to be executed. We shouldn’t allow fear, or what others think stop us from our defining moment. Also, today we were reminded not to be afraid of the outcome, or with things like how the bills are going to get paid. But, even more so we were reminded to pray hers. Pray for that sister who is hesitant to stop out into the unknown. Esteem her. During our morning motivations and prayer call we were encouraged to make God our perspective, then watch how our perspective change as it relates to our situation.
Day 20 The Business Woman of The Year
Wow! Today we were reminded that a virtuous woman is rare, and that her worth is faaaar above rubies (Proverbs 31). Currently, the sunrise ruby is the most expensive colored gemstone auctioned off at $30,335,698.00 That is A LOT for a jewel, but guess what? Our worth far exceeds that. We are priceless, but imagine for a moment that your net worth is valued far above 30 million. How would you carry yourself? How would you execute? Many of us would walk in a greater level of confidence, due to having the resources to get things done. A Proverbs 31 woman knows how to manage success, family, and finances. She is a true boss. We don’t have to chose one over the other, we just need the skillset to make them all work efficiently and effectively.
Day 21 He is No Good Without You
Genesis 2:18 tells us that it is not good that man should be alone, and as a result God created help for him. Help that came in the form of a woman. Therefore, if you are unmarried with the desire to be married know that your husband-to-be is looking for you as much as you are looking for him to show up. On this day married women were challenged to phone an unmarried friend and pray that she would not move suddenly into a relationship out of loneliness, or desperation, and that she would wait patiently.
Day 22 Strong Enough For a Man, But Made a Woman
Day 22 Strong Enough For a Man, But Made a Woman.
God created woman out of man. Therefore, what’s missing in him can be found in HER. Women are adaptable with chameleon-like abilities. We know how to adjust to what life brings. We are multifaceted creatures. We are strong enough to lead, and humble enough to follow. We can bathe the children, and balance the checkbook.
Throughout the challenge we have been praying for marriages. We have been asking God to restore the passion and pursuit couples once had for each other.
Day 23 Divine Connections
Our scripture reference came from the book of Ruth 1:3-5. In summary, a widow woman by the name of Naomi ended up losing, not only her husband, but eventually her two sons. The two sons death resulted in their wives becoming widows. Orpah and Ruth. Orpah decided to return to her people while Ruth insisted on laying down her life to follow her mother -in-law. Her willingness and determination to lay down her life resulted in a divine connection and marriage to the most eligible bachelor in town, Boaz. What Ruth did was so exemplary an entire book of the Bible was named in her honor.
If we trust God, our gains will far exceed our losses. As we learn to give for the sake of another, we have the ability to receive double for our trouble.
Day 24 Don’t Be Ashamed of Your Praise
Our scripture reference came from Acts 16:25-26 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
Paul and Silas were sitting in a jail cell when they cried out to God. Where are you sitting? Are you sitting in pain? Are you sitting in a low dark place? Where ever you are right now you can still praise God. These two men called upon God with a song in their heart, and it caused the chains to be broken off of the other prisoners around them. When we pray hers, we are not just breaking her chains we are breaking our own. Come on chain breaker!!! Let your prayer and our praise break up the grounds of doubt and confusion. Sickness and disease. Open your mouth, and praise God!
Day 25 Never Stop Pouring
Today was a reminder that God never runs out of provision or promises. Our scripture reference came from 2 Kings 4:1-3,5-6. It was about a widow woman who was very afraid that the creditors would take her two sons and make them slaves as payment for the debt. The prophet Elisha helped her to see that the answer to her situation was sitting in her home. It was oil. She was instructed to get as many empty jars as possible, fill them will oil, sell the contents, and pay off the creditors, and live off of the rest. For every jar available there was oil. The oil didn’t stop until the jars ran out.
As God’s vessels, like Elisha, sometimes we are tasked with the responsibility of helping others see the awesomeness that they already possess. There is so much on the inside of us as women, and when we pour it into the lives of others God will keep refilling us with more, so that we never run out.
Day 26 Spread The Love
There is that scatter, and yet increase; and there is that withhold more than is meet, but it tend to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that water shall be watered himself. Proverbs 11:24-25
Love can be spread in many ways. Praying for others is spreading love. Notice the latter part of the verse…he that water shall be watered himself. What we do for others God can do for us. We are seeds planted in the earth used to bring forth a harvest of blessings that others can enjoy.
Day 27 Give
Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. Luke 6:38
Today’s extra step challenged women to give a financial seed into the life of someone. For some that is a HUGE challenge, especially when lack is evident in their life. It’s not easy to give when you have a need, but the Bible encourages to give out of our need. A seed can only produce when sown. Have a need? Sow a seed.
Day 28 Remember Who Is With You In Your Storm
Matthew 8:23-24 Remember the story of Jesus asleep on a boat when suddenly an intense storm came with waves that crashed down on the boat. The disciples were worried while Jesus was resting. Jesus wasn’t concerned about the impending storm. Why? He knew He had a destiny to meet. He was so sure of His purpose, and He knew nothing could harm him while in the will of the Father.
When the marital problems, the shut-off notice, or the attacks begin to rage against your boat, remember Who is with you. Jesus said, I will never leave nor forsake you. We can maintain peace in the storm when our trust in in One greater than the storm.
Day 29 Beautiful In Every Way
It doesn’t matter if you are the girl who likes high heels and shiny things, or the girl who prefer a pair of sweats and gym shoes, as women we want to be assured that we are beautiful in every way. We were challenged to not dim our light just because it doesn’t shine like the next persons. Be who you are, beautiful in every way.
Day 30 Your Harvest is Waiting
The PrayHers 31 Day challenge is comprised of women sowing seeds of time, love, and prayers. It’s ok to expect a harvest off of your seed sown. Can you imagine a farmer sowing corn seeds, but not expecting anything from that which is sown? Instead, he does his part and the seed, which God pre-programmed, does its part after it is planted. Therefore, we must be patient because in due time we will see answered prayer.
Day 31 God Will Never Forget:
God is not unrighteous to forget our labor of love which we have ‘sown.’He is faithful to remember the time set aside to pray for others, to gather together, to encourage and uplift our sisters. And just like a seeds ability to reproduce, our seeds will continue to reproduce. Give thanks for all that you have prayed for. Avoid worrying about how it’s going to get done, just know that a lot is happening under ground, and before you know it you will see the blessing spring forth.
Every PrayHers 31-Day challenge is different than the last. Each one BIRTHs something new. Hopefully, you will be able to join us for the next one. Stay tuned. Until next time I will be praying yours, and I hope you are praying mine.
