Stress Is Not Your Friend!

 Hey Beautiful,

I pray that this email finds you well and not weighed down by the cares of everyday life. If not, let's change that today!

The video message I have for you was inspired by my beautiful mother who recently crossed over into eternity.

After witnessing the impact that stress had on her life I truly realized that, Stress is not our friend!  It is an enemy to our health, peace, and well-being.

Therefore, I felt compelled to share with my sister community the three things I have been intentional about during this season of my life. Hopefully, you have something in place that helps you navigate the stressors of life, if not I welcome you to use the steps I've been taking.

How I Currently Address Stress:

1. Turn to scripture for comfort. No matter the problem there is a promise in God's word to comfort your situation. When I feel myself veering off, pointing the finger, or becoming anxious I grab hold of my anchor verses. Proverbs 3:5 and Philippians 4:6-7.

2.  Pray and Worship. I converse with God and it’s not always with chapter and verse. Sometimes, it is a heart-to-heart talk. Be honest about everything you are feeling.

3. Breathe. A simple deep breath can do wonders. There are times when all I do is take deep breaths. The inhale seems to reach deep within to grab hold of anxiety so that I can exhale it out.

Sis, if you are over stressing and you know it, STOP! Be mindful of what your body is saying. Be aware of who or what causes your blood pressure to rise and quickly address it. You are not called to be all things to all people all the time. It's ok to focus on yourself.

Until next time I will be praying yours and I hope that you are praying mine.

Anchor Verses

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
